Grant Wheeler graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1985. Grant was passionate about music, cars, the Green Bay Packers, running, and his family. Married, and the father of two young boys, Grant was killed in a tragic car accident in 2002 preparing to leave to run the Twin Cities Marathon.

In 2003, an Endowment Fund was established to award scholarships annually to area senior distance runners who share Grant’s passion for running and his faith, displaying it through strength of character and acts of love and encouragement.

The race committee has awarded 36 scholarships since 2004 totaling more than $30,000. This year's race entry fees will go directly to scholarships to be awarded in 2012.

Important Race Information
The church opens at 7:45 a.m.
Race begins at 9:00 a.m.

Location
Orchard Hill Reformed Church is located just North of Greenhill Road off Orchard Hill Drive. The community center is located on the East end of the church. It will be open before and after the race. Refreshments will be served and awards will be handed out in the community center. Massages by Elements will also be available.

Registration and Packet Pick-up:
Online registration is available through the Active.com registration service. If you are registering through the Active network there will be a $3.25 processing fee assessed by Active.com for non Active members. Online registration will close October 21, 2011.

Mail in registration for the race is $16 until October 16th. The cost thereafter will be $20.00. We do have a student registration this year for participants pre-school through college. Student registration is $12.00. Checks can be made payable and sent to:

You can register for the race the day of the race.

Race packets can be picked up at Orchard Hill Church in the Community Center on Friday, October 21st between 5 and 6:30 PM and Saturday morning between 7:45 and 8:30 AM.

Race Start: Elmridge (North of community center)
Race Finish: Back parking lot (off Orchard Hill Drive)

Awards:
Awards will be presented for 1st through 3rd place in each of the following age groups:
M - 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over
F - 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over

T-shirts:
Shirts are not guaranteed for race day entries.
